Life changed for my family of four in 2014 when my husband Brendan was diagnosed with a Pleomorphic Sarcoma in his right femur, to which he lost his leg above the knee in March of 2015. This is our story; that of a busy, happy, strong family...living with cancer.

I started to write about my husband's cancer story when he was first diagnosed, to keep our family and friends updated on his progress. By doing this we were able to let everyone know what was happening straight from the source, us. This has kept misconceptions and misinformation to a minimum.

I share our story from my perspective. Many of the blogs are diary entries of events as they happened. Others are my reflections on what we are going through and how we are coping with all the emotional aspects, the logistics of treatment and how having this horrid disease taking up residence in my husband's body affects each of us.

If through telling The Story of Us I am able to help allay the fears of just one other family; who may one day hear the word cancer from their doctor... then it has been worth the commitment to tell. Cancer is a disease that will touch someone in your circle at sometime, if it hasn’t already. And I want you to know that if this news is delivered to you or your loved one; that life is good and
 hope is limitless.

Brendan inspires me and those around him everyday to live well. Each new day is an opportunity to live your best life. Something I hope we can inspire in others, when they need it the most.
